2. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES
The following activities are strictly prohibited on our platform. Users who engage in these activities will face enforcement action, including potential account termination and legal action.
2.1 Illegal Activities
You may not use our Services to:
- Engage in or promote any activity illegal under Guyana law or international law
- Violate any local, national, or international laws or regulations
- Facilitate money laundering or other financial crimes
- List properties used for illegal purposes or obtained illegally
- Engage in fraud or unlicensed financial services
- Infringe on intellectual property rights
- Violate import/export or trade regulations
2.2 Discrimination and Fair Housing Violations
Guyana Home Hub is committed to equal housing opportunity and compliance with fair housing laws. All property listings and user conduct must comply with applicable anti-discrimination laws, including:
- Guyana Constitution (Article 149 - Non-discrimination)
- Guyana Prevention of Discrimination Act
- International human rights standards
- Caribbean Community (CARICOM) equal treatment principles
Specifically Prohibited:
- Discriminatory listings: Property advertisements that discriminate based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, political opinion, or socioeconomic status
- Discriminatory language: Descriptions that suggest preferences against protected groups
- Selective responses: Refusing to respond to legitimate inquiries based on user characteristics
- Prohibited phrases: Terms that exclude or discourage certain groups from applying
- Indigenous rights violations: Discrimination against Amerindian communities or violation of indigenous land rights
2.3 Fraudulent and Deceptive Practices
You may not:
- Post false listings: Properties that don't exist, aren't available, or contain false information
- Use unauthorized photos: Images that don't represent the actual property or are used without permission
- Misrepresent prices: Advertise incorrect rental or sale prices
- Bait-and-switch: Advertising one property but showing different ones
- False identity: Pretending to be someone else or creating fake profiles
- Advance fee fraud: Requesting payments before property viewing or legitimate transactions
- Fake credentials: Falsely claiming to be licensed or certified
- Currency fraud: Misrepresenting currency or exchange rates
2.4 Harassment and Abusive Behavior
You may not:
- Harass, threaten, intimidate, or stalk other users
- Use hate speech or promote violence
- Post defamatory or harmful content about others
- Send spam or unsolicited commercial messages
- Engage in sexual harassment
- Share private information about others without consent
- Create a hostile environment for other users
2.5 Inappropriate Content
You may not post content that:
- Contains explicit or inappropriate material: Sexually explicit content or inappropriate imagery
- Depicts violence: Violent, disturbing, or shocking content
- Promotes dangerous behavior: Content encouraging harmful activities
- Exploits minors: Any content that endangers or exploits children
- Promotes extremism: Content supporting violent or terrorist organizations
2.6 Security and Technical Violations
You may not:
- Unauthorized access: Attempt to access restricted areas or other user accounts
- Malware distribution: Upload viruses or malicious code
- System disruption: Overload or interfere with our servers
- Unauthorized scraping: Use automated tools to extract data without permission
- Security bypassing: Circumvent security measures or authentication
- Platform manipulation: Artificially manipulate search results or rankings
2.7 Spam and Commercial Abuse
You may not:
- Post duplicate or repetitive property listings
- Create fake listings to generate leads
- Send bulk unsolicited messages
- Advertise non-real estate services inappropriately
- Create fake reviews or testimonials
- Manipulate property rankings artificially
2.8 Intellectual Property Violations
You may not:
- Use copyrighted images or content without permission
- Infringe on trademarks or service marks
- Copy content from other real estate platforms
- Use Guyana Home Hub branding without authorization
3. CONTENT STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES
3.1 Property Listings
All property listings must:
- Be accurate: Property descriptions, prices, and availability must be truthful
- Include real photos: Images must represent the actual property
- Disclose important information: Known issues or special conditions must be mentioned
- State clear terms: Prices, conditions, and requirements must be clear
- Have proper authorization: You must have permission to list the property
- Be kept current: Update or remove listings when no longer available
3.2 Photos and Media
All uploaded media must:
- Be clear and high quality
- Accurately represent the property
- Not include people without their consent
- Not contain watermarks from other platforms without permission
- Be appropriate for a family-friendly real estate platform
3.3 User Profiles
User profiles must:
- Use accurate information
- Include valid contact information
- Use appropriate profile photos
- Not make false claims about credentials or experience
- Include required license information for real estate professionals
3.4 Communications
All communications must be:
- Professional and respectful
- Related to legitimate property interests
- Free from harassment or discrimination
- Truthful and not misleading
- Appropriate for business communications
4. ENFORCEMENT AND CONSEQUENCES
4.1 Monitoring and Review
Guyana Home Hub reserves the right to monitor, review, and moderate content and user activity on our platform. We may use automated systems, human moderators, and user reports to identify potential violations.
4.2 Enforcement Actions
Depending on the severity of violations, we may take the following actions:
- Warning: First-time minor violations may receive a warning
- Content removal: Violating content will be removed
- Feature restrictions: Temporary restriction of messaging or listing features
- Account suspension: Temporary suspension (typically 7-30 days)
- Account termination: Permanent removal from the platform
- Legal action: Referral to law enforcement for serious violations
4.3 Immediate Termination Offenses
The following violations result in immediate account termination:
- Child exploitation or endangerment
- Terrorism or violent extremism
- Serious fraud or criminal activity
- System hacking or compromise
- Repeated violations after previous suspensions
4.4 Appeals Process
If you believe enforcement action was incorrect, you may appeal by contacting us at info@guyanahomehub.com within 30 days. Include your account information, explanation, and any supporting evidence. We will review appeals within 14 business days.
